Description
When to Choose MAThread® Screws
- Assembly Processes: Ideal for scenarios where cross-threading is a common issue.
- Cost Efficiency: Reduces costs by minimizing downtime, rework, and scrap.
- Industry Use: Automotive OEMs (e.g., General Motors, Volkswagen, Daimler-Benz) and other sectors such as electronics, household appliances, telecom, and electric industries.
How MAThread® Works
- Misalignment: Initial misalignment of the MAThread® and the nut member.
- Alignment: The round shape of the MAThread® point aligns the screw to fit the nut member, engaging with optimum interference to straighten the screw up to 15°.
- Normal Driving: Threads drive normally into the nut, eliminating the risk of downtime and rework.
.
Application
- Recommended for assemblies involving nuts, tapped holes, and inserts in fully automated assembly lines.
- Suitable for applications prone to cross-threading problems.
Benefits
- Prevents Cross-Threading: Ensures proper alignment and eliminates blocking problems.
- Cost Reduction: Rapid and easy insertion without compromising installation speed; eliminates costs from failures, rework, scrap, and downtime.
- Performance: Unaffected by installation speed, ensuring consistent alignment success.
- Comparison to Dog Point: Achieves 100% success in alignment, outperforming the standard Dog Point.
Variants & Specifications
- Point MAThread®: Suitable for applications where point length is not an issue.
- MATpoint®: Absorbs misalignments up to 12°, compatible with most applications.
- VS (Very Short) MATpoint®: Ideal for applications with limited length of engagement, absorbing misalignments up to 7°.
